In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to get introduced to film. They will view, manipulate, alternate and edit the film sequences by hand. Inspired by Ho Tzu Nyen’s idea of multiple forms of time, participants will create a handmade algorithm of loops that allows different timelines to coexist instead of following a single linear one. The participants will curate the multiple timelines to work together. With all the films being looped simultaneously, they will create a unique composition of system which will generate a different narrative every time it is activated, overthrowing chronology in favour of an ever-changing cycle of memories, that result in a different storytelling at each iteration.
Participants are invited to join the second workshop at Casino to create a voice-over, which will allow the work to travel like memory and grant a freedom in the exchange between moving images and audio.
Biography
Léa Giordano is a visual artist and filmmaker based in Amsterdam and Luxembourg. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in photography, she expanded her practice into experimental filmmaking at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Her work fluidly moves between moving images and photography, using the materiality of analogue film as both metaphor and medium to shape narratives and embrace the organic evolution of her creation process. Her practice explores themes of longing, belonging, melancholia, nostalgia, abandonment, change, grief, acceptance and the passing of time. Through a meditative engagement with nature and the tactile processes of analogue film, Léa creates intimate spaces where emotion, memory and time intertwine.

The act of fermentation can be likened to the work of a curator within an art institution. Both derive from the Latin curare, meaning "to care for." Just as a curator fosters and preserves art, fermentation is a process of attentive care, where time and patience allow ingredients to evolve and reach their fullest expression. Both acts demand an intentional engagement with time, uncovering layers of depth—whether in flavor or form—through a process of gradual transformation.
In this workshop, we invite you to explore the intricate practice of fermentation. From the enduring tradition of pickled cabbage, foundational to many cultures, to the briny notes of salted pickles (ogórki kiszone), or the bold complexity of kimchi, fermentation invites an intimate dialogue between nature and nurture. As participants, you will witness the slow unfolding of flavors, observing the nuanced transformation of humble ingredients through traditional preservation methods.
Participation fee: 6 € / free with the Kulturpass or a student card. Registration required : visites@casino-luxembourg.lu

A participatory workshop series exploring art and its impact on the world.
In collaboration with the artist Collective Antropical and residency partner Bridderhaus.
The Paths to Perception workshop, hosted by the artist collective Antropical, offers a participatory exploration of art’s impact on society. Through an exploration of significant artworks (including painting, film, literature, performance, and more), the workshop seeks to open new perspectives on the world and a deeper understanding of oneself.
Participants are invited to express and explore their personal questions, while the artistic team provides tailored recommendations of artistic and cultural works that resonate with their interests, concerns, and inquiries. The workshop provides a space for sharing experiences and discussing the impact art has on our lives.
How it works:
You can anonymously submit topics and questions of interest to the artists from Antropical artist collective at least one week in advance. The artistic team will then shape these submissions into a common theme, which will inspire a curated program of short films, stories, songs, and paintings. The 3-hours session includes time for experiencing these art works followed by a group discussion. The workshop leaders also, separately, provide personalised artistic recommendations in response to your privately submitted topics or questions.
Free, registration required : inscriptions@kulturfabrik.lu.

On these very special Wednesday evenings, Mudam invites its visitors to reclaim the museum in fun, convivial and joyful ways, and rediscover its building by taking part in our Night Fever activities. Through collaborations with local collectives, Mudam connects with Luxembourg’s communities, inviting them to co-host unique events. Free and open to the public, everyone is invited to join and engage in these communal and interactive gatherings and expand their museum experience!
This time, déi aner invites you for an all-out zine-making workshop, celebrating the second anniversary of the collective. Zines have always been a powerful tool for building community, fostering resistance and dreaming of liberation. Most importantly, they are a favourite medium for reclaiming narratives that have been pushed aside. In times of censorship and the exclusion of marginalised voices, zines offer a creative way to imagine futures and create spaces where everyone feels heard. During the workshop, you will have the chance to make collages with upcycled paper, illustrate and write your reflections to create your own personalised zine. All creative techniques are welcome!
Based on four exhibitions currently on display at Mudam, this workshop will invite participants to reflect on themes like time, migration, cultural heritage and our connection to nature.
Biography (it’s us!!!)
déi aner is an online zine platform: a webzine. This means that they self-publish articles to create a community for people who feel isolated from the mainstream. It is the same motivation that drives so many other communities to publish zines as a way of reclaiming their own stories. Founded in Luxembourg, in April 2023, déi aner was created to fill a gap – to bring something new and necessary to the country. It was established to spark reflection and to empower those who have been marginalised for far too long. In a place where community solidarity is rare, the alternative media platform strives not only to publish unique stories but also to create events that foster meaningful connections and conversations.

Spring Awakenings follows a cohort of adolescents as they grapple with the complexities of burgeoning sexuality in a society teetering between information overload and a call for structure. Originally penned in 1891, Frank Wedekind’s seminal play – which director Anne Simon and writer-dramaturg Antoine Pohu use as a framework – was deemed too audacious to be performed until 1906, after which it was repeatedly censored. Delving into subjects such as homosexuality, suicide and rape, it touches upon a plethora of themes still pertinent today. In this version, contemporary perspectives gleaned from interviews and workshops with today’s teenagers enrich the narrative. The creative team aims to incorporate original song writing and explore innovative ways to depict social media’s significance as a tool for self-expression and its role in shaping the worldview of today’s youth.

A Beirut rooftop conversation about living with Sexually Transmitted Infections opens into a cinematic dialogue, as Danielle and Moe draw raw and vibrant images from their personal experiences.
Danielle filmed herself in sober and melancholic images to grasp what is going on, while Moe plays with memories and sensations of a queer body “invaded” by a virus. While they engage with five actresses and actors to embody the testimonies of individuals who also lived with STIs, “forbidden” stories begin to exist and enter a collaborative exploration of intimacy, bodies, stigma and shame.

Dear FLINTA* person, How much longer must we walk home at night feeling unsafe?
We say no more! It is our right to move freely and fearlessly through Luxembourg’s public spaces! So gear up and prepare yourself for taking back the night on the 30th of April 2024!
Let’s unite for a demonstration centered on empowerment, resistance, and reclaiming our space. On Walpurgis Night—when witches gather—let’s stand together in solidarity and turn every dark alley into a place of strength.
This march is more than just a response to the dangers we face at night—casual sexism, verbal harassment, sexual and gender-based violence. It is also an act of collective resistance, an effort to create safer spaces in the very hours that often feel the most threatening.
We will gather at Kinnekswiss Park at 7 PM, marching through the heart of the city as the sun sets, and ending with a vigil at Casino Luxembourg. There, we will come together to honor and mourn the FLINTA* people harmed or lost to our heteropatriarchal society—while reaffirming our strength and resilience.
This march is open to all FLINTA* people who wish to join.
Let’s raise our voices, reclaim the streets, and make our presence undeniable. Claim our bodies claim our rights take a stance take back the night!
